Collection: Greenhouses 20-25 m²

A greenhouse between twenty and twenty five square metres allows permanent beds, wide staging runs and comfortable circulation with a barrow. At this scale it supports substantial cropping and fruit trained under glass. A level, anchored base is essential.

More about Greenhouses 20-25 m²

Greenhouses Between 20 and 25 m2

A greenhouse between twenty and twenty five square metres allows permanent beds, wide staging runs and comfortable circulation with a barrow. At this scale the house supports substantial cropping and fruit trained under glass, and the interior can be divided into areas that are managed differently.

The step up from fifteen square metres is less about capacity than about how the space is used. There is now room to keep propagation entirely separate from cropping, so seed trays are not competing for bench space with mature plants in midsummer.

Frames and Glazing at This Scale

A house of this size needs heavier frame sections than a domestic model, because the spans are longer and the glazing is heavier. Aluminium remains the usual choice, in a thicker profile than smaller frames use.

  • Twin wall polycarbonate insulates better and will not shatter, which matters over a large glazed area.
  • Toughened safety glass transmits more light and adds weight that stiffens the structure.

The material guide covers the trade offs in full. Whichever you choose, budget for spare glazing and clips from the outset, since replacing a pane on a large house is a routine job rather than an emergency.

Zoning the Interior

Twenty five square metres is enough to run two climates under one roof. A partition, even a simple polythene curtain, lets one end be held warmer than the other. This is how growers overwinter tender stock without heating the whole volume, which is the single largest running cost at this size.

Wide doors at both ends make the house workable with a barrow and give through ventilation on warm days. Low threshold doors are worth specifying if you will be wheeling anything in and out regularly.

Heating and Ventilation

Heating cost scales with volume, not floor area, and this is where owners are most often caught out. A house of this size can cost several times what a domestic frame costs to hold above frost. Insulating with bubble sheet through winter, or heating only a partitioned section, brings that down substantially.

The insulation range covers bubble sheet and fleece, and our heaters are listed with output figures so you can match them to the volume rather than guess.

Before You Order

Groundworks need planning well ahead of delivery. The base must be level, drained and square, and at this size that usually means a concrete perimeter or slab rather than a proprietary base frame. Access matters too: a house of this scale arrives on a pallet and needs a route to the site.

Anchoring is not optional. Our anchor kits cover every base type, and fitting during assembly is far easier than afterwards.
